From the Archives: People’s Folk Dance Directory and Edith Jason

In the archives, we found the book “People’s Folk Dance Directory” from 1989. It lists folk dance organizations and classes from around the United States, and a smattering from around the world. One of the listings is for Edith Jason and Jules Bender, who often led the PeaceSmiths Folk Dance Fundraiser in the summer.

Below are scanned photos from People’s Folk Dance Directory, including the cover, the preface, and the page that Edith Jason’s class appears on. (Don’t try to show up now, based on the 1989 listings. My understanding is that Edith mostly teaches yoga, now. Think she has moved her studio, too.)
