Update: Thanks to everyone for support and well-wishes. Both Don Zirkel and Susan McKeon had all charges dismissed in the interest of justice!

PeaceSmiths has been in support of the 4,000 Soldier Demonstration at Smith Haven Mall, and the two people who were arrested there. Susan McKeon went to court this morning. She was charged because she refused to stop reading the names of the dead soldiers when asked. The charges against Susan McKeon were “dismissed in the interest of justice.” Thank you to everyone who supported these efforts.

The other person charged at Smith Haven Mall that day will be appearing in court this afternoon, Thursday, May 22nd. His case is a little different. Peace groups have decided to meet in the parking lot at the court at 1pm to show him our support.

Entry filed under: PeaceSmiths Calendar.

Tomorrow, 5/22/08: Court support for Suffolk peace activists This just in: Bush is a Liar Choir to perform at PeaceSmiths!
