Please make your voice heard at Hofstra Presidential Debate

October 13, 2008 at 10:06 pm Leave a comment

[Note there are several demonstrations and rallies surrounding the Hofstra debate. Some as early as 3pm, and some later. There are partisan demonstrations, and issue group demonstrations. We could not keep up with them all, and could not endorse them all. But, keep your eyes open. And, also know that you will find many PeaceSmiths folks at many of these events…]

PeaceSmiths believes in peaceful and non-violent responses to world events.
PeaceSmiths is against the War in Iraq and the War in Afghanistan.
PeaceSmiths is against the use of nuclear power.

PeaceSmiths encourages our members to attend the peace demonstration being held before the Presidential Debates at Hofstra. Though, PeaceSmiths hopes our members recognize the injustice of only two-party debates, and that PeaceSmiths members will demand absolute peace and justice from all candidates for office.

Please come to the event sponsored by Long Island Alliance, and bring your own thoughts, signs and banners, as well:

4:30 p.m.–Gather and line up on the south side of Hempstead Turnpike starting from Uniondale Avenue and spreading west toward California Avenue and Oak Street. Park on the streets south of Hempstead Turnpike.
Here are the details of the event designed by Long Island peace groups:
