There is just too much to do on Long Island this Saturday, November 22nd. Since PeaceSmiths values all of these activities, we will mention them all to put your day in perspective:

1. Memorial with music for PeaceSmiths community member Jorge Renderos in Freeport. Starts at 6:30 with reception. Call Carol. Or, contact: (212) 620-1611.

2. Vigil/March for Marcelo Lucero with the theme of Say No To Hate in Hempstead. Starts at 6:15pm. Call (516) 565-5377.

3. Demonstration against the School of the Americas. Peter King’s office in Massapequa Park 1pm to 2:30pm. For more information contact Dennis at dmu7 at optonline.net

4. Healthy Planet Vegan Thanksgiving. At a new location! Christ Lutheran Church in East Northport. Starts at 6pm. For more information contact (631) 421-5591.

Have fun picking or trying to attend more than one!

And, be thankful for events coming up that are on a different day! More to follow and hopefully on phone line soon:

Friday, Dec 12th: Five Towns Forum: New Revelations in the Rosenberg Case with Robert Meeropol at 8pm

Sunday, Dec 14th: Cinema Arts Center presentation: “In Prison My Whole Life” documentary about Mumia Abu Jamal, sponsored by Amnesty International.
