PeaceSmiths statement on Congressional Hearings to investigate Muslims

PeaceSmiths, Inc. joins other voices in the Long Island peace and justice community who urge Representative Peter King to cancel the proposed Congressional hearings to investigate the Muslim-American community.

We fear these hearings will only further divide our community and undermine our nation’s highest ideals. A commitment to pluralism and respect for diversity are strengths in the struggle against terrorism.
