George Mann makes his return to Long Island, back from his Australia tour. He is a longtime advocate for peace and workers. George will give us his songs, a rally, and a history lesson all in one.
George Mann hails from New York and has been making labor and protest music for more than 20 years. He has worked with and produced albums featuring such folk music legends as Utah Phillips, Pete Seeger and Tom Paxton, and produced national tours of the US and Australia in honor of the Almanac Singers (2013) and Joe Hill (2015). George brings his stories and songs as a union organizer and educator to his concerts. He has just released “For the Road and the Sky,” his newest CD, and “Until You Come Home: Songs to Heal the Wounds of War,” a compilation CD of songs about the effects of war on those who serve.
Non-perishable food items (vegetarian), such as: cans of vegetables and rice cereals, will be collected for L.I. Food Not Bombs and the church’s food drive.
