PeaceSmithies: Do you know any guitar players? (Occupy Guitarmy)

On May Day (Tuesday, May 1, 2012), Occupy Wall Street folks are going to hold an event: 1,000 guitars in a joyful, musical, nonviolent Occupy Guitarmy march.

I can’t think of a better place to find guitar players (and banjo players, and tambourine players, and…) than among the PeaceSmiths crowd. I think we have had 1,000 guitars at our Open Mics sometimes! (Or, it just seemed like that when they used to run until 2am.)

If you are a guitar player, please do lend your talent to Occupy Guitarmy! And, please consider inviting your favorite PeaceSmiths features or Open Mic performers to participate.

Some basic info…

You can find all the contacts, info, set lists, and schedules you need at the following website:
occupyguitarmy.tumblr.com

Where to meet (starting with rehearsal time):

Assemble at noon at Bryant Park by the Gertrude Stein statue
March from Bryant Park to Union Square
Performance in Union Square
